A “Basket of Prayers” is on the table in the lobby with names and
needs that we all need to pray for. Be sure to go by and get a card.
Please see James Pendley if you have questions.
Two Respond to the Invitation

asking for prayers. Pat Lambert also came forward confessing sin as
well. We love and appreciate these two and their families.

stock the closet. See Pat Lambert if you have any questions.

come and help as we want to keep our building and grounds in good
shape. If you have any questions see Jack Jackson.

THE EMPTY NEST
I remember well the tears that fell when we left our firstborn at
college for the first time. The tears fell again four years later when
he and his wife left in the U-Haul to take their first job-eleven
hundred miles away. The truth hit home, the cord was broken, he was
growing up and things would never be the same again. The first time is
always the hardest but I don’t look forward to the time when our second
born will finish college, marry and establish her own nest. The tears
will surely fall again.
Let me urge all of our young families with children and those who are
anticipating families in the future to plan now for that day when the
nest will be empty. It will come quickly.
Send them out with the right equipment – the right memories.
MEMORY ONE: of Godly parents – not perfect parents but parents who
tried hard to bring them up in the knowledge and understanding of the
Lord. (Ephesians 6:1-4).
MEMORY TWO: of parents who loved them – “greater love hath no man
than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Godly parents
would gladly give their lives for that of their children (John 15:13).
MEMORY THREE: of parents who loved each other – the best example of
love that can be given to your children is the expression of your love
for each other (Ephesians 5).
MEMORY FOUR: of parents who spent time with them – no career, no
promotion, no raise in pay, no social activity, no form of personal
entertainment should ever take the place of time spent with your family.
Money cannot buy it, excitement cannot replace it but eternity will
surely reward it (Ecclesiastes 2:11).
MEMORY FIVE: of parents who sought to develop them in all areas of
growth – mentally, physically, spiritually and socially, parents that
realize it takes all four to make a person complete (Luke 2:52).

GOD’S WORD
Revelation 22:1-5 NKJV
1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as
crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river,
was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding
its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing
of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of
the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.
4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their
foreheads.
5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of
the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign
forever and ever.

7 Reasons I Attend Wednesday Nights
* I desire to learn more about God’s Word (John 6:44 -45).
* I love my brethren and desire their company (I Peter 2:17 ).
* I want to set the right example for my family and others (I Cor.
11:1).
* I desire to encourage the workers in the church; everyone knows
that the workers will be present on Wednesday nights (Romans 14:19
).
* I attend because I have the attitude, “What more can I do?”,
rather than, “Do I have to do it?” (Romans 12:11).
* I believe the first and greatest commandment: “Thou shalt love
the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with
all thy mind” (Matthew 22:37 ).
* The Bible teaches that Jesus may come at any moment (Matthew
25:13). If He should come on Wednesday night, I want to be assembled
with the brethren.
