SHADES OF THE BOOK OF ACTS

Note: in Acts 5:28 we read where he Sanhedrin or high council of Jerusalem had ordered the apostles not to preach in the name of Jesus in that city.  It is a ploy of Satan to use men with world authority to stop gospel preaching (cf., Jer. 26:8-9), and not just in Bible times.  Below you will read of an order by a church council made up of denominational “reverends and pastors” in the India state of Manipur, who ordered broth Khulen Kom (who is supported by the New Union Church in Coffee County, Tennessee) to cease preaching in their area.  Note how they seek at first to temper their order against our brother,

   Church Council
   Manipur, Northeast India

To Mr. Khulechao Motte Kom (Khulenchao)
   Preacher Church of Christ
   Sagang

We greet you in Jesus name.  We leaders of five churches of Sagang area held an emergency meeting  on 30 January, 2007, (Tuesday) at 10 A.M. accordingly sitting (and made) No. 1 Resolution.  We,  unanimously agreed and resolved that Mr. Kholenchao (Khulen Kom), must stop his church of Christ ministry among us soon.  And let him not introduce and interfere his church of Christ Doctrine among believers (denominations) of Sagana area.  This is the last warning for you that if you preach and introduce the doctrines once again you will be in trouble.

(Nine names were signed with the titles given below)

     1.  Reverend, Sagang Baptist Church                      2. Pastor of Baptist Church

    3.  Pastor of Baptist Church                                    4. Baptist Council Chairman

    5. Elder, Presbyterian Church                                6. Evangelist, Presbyterian Church

    7. Pastor of Baptist Church                                    8. Sagang Area Baptist Fellowship, Chairman, Sec.

    9. Secretary Sagan Baptist Church

Brother Khulen Kom has not been deterred by these orders of men, but has in fact started a Bible training school in the Sagang area of Manipur with ten enrolled.  Although there are strong restrictions on our travel to that region we are helping one of our Shillong graduates to assist them.  Please pray for this work.

                                                                                              With love to all,
                                                                                              Jim E. Waldron

Just a thought or two…

Your character is built with what you stand for; your reputation by what you fall for.

You must climb the mountain if you wish to view the plain.

The best thing you can spend on your children is your time.

God’s Word

1 John 2:1-6  NKJV

1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.

4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
